The National Day of Sweden
Today is the National Day of Sweden. In general, we don't celebrate it that much. It might be due to the fact that it is based on the crowning of king Gustav Vasa in 1523, which is not really contemporary.
Anyway, I will share something I learned from a collegue some days ago, that can (with a stretch) be linked to this day:
Apparently, the inward facing bulb in the bottom of champagne bottles are there to make the bottle strong enough to endure the pressure that builds up during the process of maturing the champagne. The bottle would explode if it had a regular, flat bottom.
